Our daily sessions (Monday to Friday) typically run as follows:
9.00am Doors open & Self Registration
Please arrive promptly with your child. Please sign your child in on the register. Children go to their key group, find their name and seat and
place ‘Show and tell’ items and snack boxes in their group box. Key group worker welcomes the children and gives a brief talk of the session activities avialable.
9.10am Free play and curriculum based activities
Children are mostly free to explore the environment but will be encouraged to participate in planned activities
10.15am Tidy-up time, Songs & Calendar
All resources need to be tidied and children are encoraged and expected to help tidy up.
The weather & calendar board are completed with the children & participation in song time is encouraged.
10.20am Snack Time & Show and Tell
Snack boxes (fruit / veg / yogurt only). Milk or water will be supplied as a drink.
Children also get the opportunity to show / talk about the items they have brought in from home.
10.40am Free Play
Children can explore and play with any of the resources / equipment available during the session.
11.25am Story Time & Circle Time
Books that children have brought in from home and Playgroup books are usually read to the group followed by a participation activity, including letters and sounds.
Dependent on the weather, we may take local walks, visit the school outdoor play area, enjoy balloons or bubbles in the park or have musical movement exercise indoors.
11.40am Relax, Songs and Rhymes
Songs and Rhymes bring session to and end.
11.55am Prep for Home time
Sit on chairs. Home time song. Children are called by the Playleader / Assistant individually to go to their parent / carer.
12.00noon All children collected - Session closes
