Greatfield Playgroup is a warm and welcoming provider of quality day care for a maximum of 24 children. Our staff: children ratios mean that children are able to receive close attention and are carefully supervised.

 

 

We are regularly inspected by Ofsted and at the last inspection were awarded a satisfactory grade for the quality of care and education standards provided for children.  We are continually working towards improving and raising our standards.

 

We work closely with the surrounding schools, particularly with transitions at the end of the summer term and have regular access the local school’s facilities and play area.

 

 

We pride ourselves on giving each child the opportunity to learn about themselves and the world through the medium of play in a safe and stimulating environment. Through play children are helped to develop physically and are encouraged to explore, experience, discover and practice skills and ideas, as well as to interact socially with adults and peers.

 

Close partnerships with parents/carers is seen as important to the development of children, therefore liaison is vital. Through feedback from parents / carers staff will respond positively in identifying areas where improvements could be made.  We are also affiliated with the local Greatfield Parent and Toddler Group, from which many children feed into the Playgroup.

 

Greatfield Playgroup is a charity which is run by parents under the Gloucestershire PATA Constitution from whom we have support, training and backing.  In return we agree to abide by the constitution rules set out by PATA.  The rule which affects Greatfield Playgroup the most is the involvement of parents/carers of the children registered.  The Playgroup belongs to you and with a full committee in place, you have the maximum say in how you want it to run so please get involved, attend meetings, voice your opinions and have a say in what you want for and from your playgroup for your child.
